Identifying Browsers by User Agent Strings

Identify the browser using the ecmd7(user agent) field from apptrak metrics. Note that ecmd7 may contain misleading information so it is necessary to use specific queries within ecmd7 for accuracy.

Identifying Major Versions of Browsers

Once you have identified the browser family, you may wish to further identify the browser version.

Chrome

- Note: Identifying Safari using the string "(KHTML, like Gecko) Version/" will also identify most mobile webkit browsers. To limit these results, exclude any user agent string that contains the text "Mobile".
